Gurugram, June 14, 2026: District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh announced that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) campaign will be launched under the directives of the Election Commission of India, across the district from Monday, June 15.

The month-long drive aims to make the electoral roll more accurate, updated, and error-free through extensive door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

According to the district administration, BLOs will visit households from June 15 to July 14, 2026, to verify voter details, register newly eligible voters, update transferred voter records, and rectify errors in the electoral roll.

DC Uttam Singh stated that the electoral roll forms the foundation of the democratic process, and ensuring its accuracy remains a top administrative priority.

He informed that all BLOs and election officials in the district have already undergone training and received detailed operational guidelines for the successful execution of the campaign.

He emphasized that the administration is working to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the voter list and appealed to residents to cooperate fully during the verification process by providing correct information and required documents to the BLOs during their visits.

Uttam Singh said the officials will focus on corrections and new registrations:

The administration stated that the campaign will help rectify errors related to names, addresses, age, photographs, and other voter details.

It will also facilitate the inclusion of new voters and updates for citizens who have shifted residences.

The Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to ensure that all eligible family members are registered in the voter list and encouraged residents to immediately report any discrepancies to the BLOs or election office officials.

Uttam Singh noted that active public participation is essential for creating a reliable and fully updated electoral roll so that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right to vote.

Helplines and helpdesks activated:

To assist voters during the Special Intensive Revision drive, the Election Commission of India toll-free helpline number 1950 will remain operational daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Additional district and constituency-level helpline numbers have also been activated.

The district administration has also established dedicated helpdesks at district and constituency offices for voter assistance regarding electoral roll corrections, name additions, transfers, and other election-related services.

ECINet app to provide digital services:

DC Uttam Singh encouraged voters to make maximum use of the ECINet app developed by the Election Commission of India.

Through the app, citizens can download their e-EPIC voter ID, check their names in the electoral roll, access polling station information, and avail various election-related services from home.

Officials said the digital platform aims to make electoral services more transparent, efficient, and convenient for voters.

The administration also stated that the app enables citizens to directly contact their respective BLOs and even schedule calls for assistance when required.

Voters have additionally been encouraged to upload recent photographs to help maintain an updated and accurate electoral roll.

During the door-to-door verification process, citizens will also be able to provide feedback regarding the services delivered by BLOs, which officials say will further strengthen transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
