Patna, August 6, 2026: In a major push to industrial development, the Samrat Choudhary government on Thursday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately Rs 51,600 crore with leading industrial groups at a ceremony held at ‘Sankalp Auditorium inside the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna.

The agreements were signed between the state’s Industries Department and various companies in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.

The proposed investments span key sectors, including steel, nuclear energy, textiles, food processing and pharmaceuticals.

The state government said it aims to translate these investment proposals into projects at the earliest to accelerate industrialization and generate large-scale employment opportunities.

Samrat Choudhary highlighted Bihar’s industrial potential:

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said Bihar has the potential to emerge as a major steel hub of the country.

He said investment in steel and metal-based industries would not only strengthen the state’s industrial base but also create substantial direct and indirect employment.

Choudhary also highlighted the government’s focus on the textile, nuclear energy, food processing and pharmaceutical sectors.

He said the labour-intensive textile and apparel industry has immense potential to generate jobs, while investments in clean and nuclear energy would help meet the state’s future energy requirements.

Describing Bihar as an agrarian state with significant opportunities in food processing, Samrat Choudhary said expansion in the sector would provide farmers with better market access, increase value addition to agricultural produce and boost rural economic activity.

He added that the government is also encouraging investments in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Among the major investment proposals, Shyam Steel Manufacturing Limited and Shakambhari Ispat & Power Limited have each proposed investments of Rs 5,000 crore in the steel sector.

Nakshat Iron & Steel Pvt. Ltd. has proposed an investment of Rs 8,836 crore, Langta Baba Metals & Power Limited Rs 5,500 crore, Ankur Steel Pvt. Ltd. Rs 6,000 crore and Samriddhi Steel Pvt. Ltd. Rs 290 crore.

In the nuclear energy sector, Global Renewable Advanced Clean Energy Pvt. Ltd. (GRACE) signed an MoU proposing an investment of Rs 22,500 crore.

In the textile sector, Creatish Group proposed an investment of Rs 250 crore, Anubhav Apparels Pvt.Ltd. Rs 50 crore, while Bharat Science and Innovation Pvt. Ltd. signed an MoU proposing an investment of Rs 200 crore.

Economic boost through investment:

The Chief Minister said these investments would help transform Bihar into a leading industrial destination while creating employment opportunities across multiple sectors.

He added that the government’s vision is to strengthen investor confidence through transparent policies, improved infrastructure and an industry-friendly ecosystem under the “Build and Believe in Bihar” initiative.

Earlier in the day, Samrat Choudhary reviewed preparations for the upcoming Bihar Business Connect 2026.

He said the event would bring together domestic and international investors to explore business opportunities in Bihar and attract fresh investments across sectors.

 He also stressed the need to enhance the participation of Non-Resident Biharis (NRBs) in the investment summit, stating that Bihar’s large market, young workforce and improving infrastructure provide a strong foundation for rapid industrial growth.

According to him, the government’s long-term objective is to position Bihar among the country’s leading industrial and investment destinations.
