Patna, May 3, 2026: Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain attended the Bihar Education Summit organized at Hotel Maurya, where he highlighted the state’s progress and future direction in education and development.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor stated that Bihar has witnessed a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, particularly in the education sector.
He noted that this progress has significantly boosted public confidence and opened new dimensions of growth.
However, he emphasized the need to effectively communicate Bihar’s development story to the rest of the country and the world, adding that true progress gains meaning only when achievements are widely shared.
Syed Ata Hasnain mentioned the rich civilization legacy of Bihar:
Highlighting Bihar’s historical significance, Syed Ata Hasnain said the roots of Indian civilization can be traced back to Patliputra and Magadh.
This legacy, he noted, positions Bihar as one of the strongest cultural centres in the country, deserving greater recognition and global prestige.

Syed Ata Hasnain stressed that Bihar’s growth requires not only financial investment but also intellectual and institutional engagement.
He called for the development of world-class institutions that can prepare students to represent Bihar on global platforms.
He further underlined that education must go beyond traditional classrooms.
With emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence offering new possibilities, he also highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting traditional knowledge systems.
Art forms such as Madhubani art, he said, serve as powerful educational tools in themselves.
Focus on investment and global-standard institutions:
Emphasizing the role of informal education, he advocated for increased organization of seminars, symposiums, and open dialogues.
According to him, such platforms enable the exchange of ideas and encourage innovation by giving individuals the opportunity to express themselves freely.

Democratizing access to these forums strengthens both society and the education ecosystem.
He also encouraged the habit of reading newspapers and staying informed about global developments, describing it as an essential component of modern education.
Tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur’s legacy:
Earlier, Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain participated in a national seminar titled “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur: Life and Teachings,” organized by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Takht Sri Patna Sahib, on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji inspires individuals to lead with courage and to uphold justice and freedom as both a moral and national responsibility.
He described the Guru’s life as a remarkable example of leadership under intense moral and political pressure.

Referring to the events of the execution of Guru Tegh Bahadur, he stated that the Guru’s sacrifice in 1675 was not for territorial gain or narrow objectives, but for humanity and the universal right of individuals to practice and preserve their faith.
By laying down his life for religious freedom, Guru Tegh Bahadur elevated leadership to a universal moral ideal.
Leadership through inner strength:
Syed Ata Hasnain emphasized that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji demonstrated leadership not through the use of force, but through moral courage and inner strength.
Despite facing oppression and immense pressure, he stood firm against the might of the state without resorting to violence.
His resistance, he noted, was peaceful, deliberate, and principled, transforming an act of tyranny into a powerful moral awakening for society.
Syed Ata Hasnain further observed that the Guru’s sacrifice laid the ethical foundation for the transformation that later flourished under the leadership of Guru Gobind Singh.

Through his actions, Guru Tegh Bahadur proved that civilizations endure and thrive on the strength of their values.
Concluding his address, the Governor highlighted key lessons from the Guru’s life, stating that freedom of conscience is inviolable and that protecting both belief and dissent is essential in a diverse society.
He underlined that moral courage represents the highest form of leadership, especially in times of adversity, and that martyrdom, when rooted in truth and justice, carries a profound and lasting impact on humanity.
