Gurugram, June 15, 2026: In line with the directives of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision SIR 2026 campaign has commenced across the district with the aim of making the electoral roll more accurate, updated, and error-free.
Under the campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door verification in villages, wards, colonies, sectors, and residential societies to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the voter list while records of ineligible voters are updated promptly.
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh stated that BLOs are distributing enumeration forms to voters during the verification drive.
These forms will be used to confirm and update details already recorded in the electoral roll.
Documents and verification of voters during the SIR process:
According to Uttam Singh, BLOs will collect details, including mobile numbers, date of birth, Aadhar numbers (Optional), and names of parents or spouses.
Officials clarified that voters or their parents whose names already appear in the 2002 electoral roll only need to fill out and submit the enumeration form.
However, citizens whose names are not present in the 2002 electoral roll must submit at least one valid supporting document prescribed by the Election Commission of India.

Accepted documents include birth certificates, identity cards, passports, driving licences, educational certificates, residential proof documents, land or property records, or other approved documents specified by the Election Commission.
Forms for additions, deletions and corrections during the SIR process:
The district administration stated that the SIR campaign will also facilitate registration of new eligible voters, corrections in names and addresses, and removal of names of shifted voters.
For these purposes, Form 6,7, and 8 are being used during the verification process.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all residents to cooperate fully with BLOs during the SIR process by providing accurate information and submitting required documents within the stipulated timeline.
He emphasized that maintaining a clean and updated electoral roll is essential for strengthening the democratic process and ensuring fair elections.
SDM reviews SIR verification drive:
As part of the ongoing campaign, Sanjeev Singla, who serves as the Electoral Registration Officer and SDM of Badshahpur Assembly constituency, inspected several polling stations and booths on Monday.
During the inspection, he reviewed the door-to-door verification work being carried out by BLOs and monitored the process of filling out enumeration forms.

Sanjeev Singhla also interacted with local residents and explained the objectives of the SIR campaign, stressing the importance of ensuring that every eligible citizen’s name is correctly included in the electoral roll.
He instructed BLOs to visit every household systematically, assist voters with documentation requirements, and ensure that the campaign is conducted transparently and in strict accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to achieve complete voter verification across the constituency.
