Gurugram, June 27, 2026: Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh chaired a high-level review meeting at the Municipal Corporation Gurugram office on Saturday to assess the progress of development projects and civic services across the city.

The meeting focused on sanitation, drainage, rainwater harvesting, pond rejuvenation, property IDs, revenue collection, and infrastructure projects in the Badshahpur Assembly constituency.

The minister stated that providing quality basic amenities to citizens remains the government’s top priority.

He directed officials to ensure that all development works are completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to prescribed quality standards.

Rao Narbir Singh warned officials against assigning projects to contractors beyond their capacity and instructed departments to assess an agency’s resources, technical capability, and previous performance before awarding contracts.

“If a project meant to be completed in three months continues for six months or a year, citizens suffer. Such delays will not be tolerated,” he said.

Rao Narbir Singh further stated that both officials and contractors would be held accountable in cases of negligence.

Rao Narbir Singh emphasized monsoon preparedness:

The minister instructed officials to complete road, sewerage, and drainage works before the monsoon season.

He emphasized that excavation work should not remain unfinished on roads or inside residential colonies for long periods, as it causes waterlogging, mud accumulation, and inconvenience to residents.

Officials presented details of the Municipal Corporation’s new zoning framework during the meeting.

The minister said the objective is to transform Gurugram into a cleaner, better-planned, and more organized urban center through improved infrastructure and efficient public services.

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya informed the meeting that development projects worth approximately Rs 366 crore are currently underway in the Badshahpur Assembly constituency.

These projects include road construction and strengthening, sewerage infrastructure, drinking water supply projects, drainage systems, park development, beautification works, and urban infrastructure improvements.

The minister directed officials to ensure that these projects are completed within deadlines so that citizens can quickly benefit from improved civic amenities.

Proposed infrastructure projects:

The meeting also reviewed several proposed projects, including a modern public library and knowledge centre, new roads and road widening, expansion of sewer and drinking water networks, stormwater drainage systems, community centres, and sports infrastructure.

Officials were instructed to complete administrative and technical approvals quickly to allow early commencement of work.

Property ID reforms:

Rao Narbir Singh emphasized simplifying the progress related to property IDs, including their generation, correction, and verification.

He directed officials to dispose of pending cases on a priority basis and ensure transparency and accountability in the system.

Officials reported progress under the first phase of pond rejuvenation projects covering 28 priority ponds.

Work involving desilting, deepening, embankment strengthening, and rainwater diversion has significantly increased water storage capacity.

Completed pond rejuvenation projects include Kadipur, Samaspur, South City-2, Begumpur Khatola, Badshahpur, Dhanwapur, Basai Dada Bhaiya, Sargaul, and Subhash Nagar.

Meanwhile, work is continuing on ponds located in Noorpur Kharsa, Basai village, and Dhankot.

Rao Narbir Singh reiterated that increased municipal revenue must translate into visible improvements in civic infrastructure and public services while maintaining transparency and a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption.
