Patna, May 5, 2026: In a significant administrative decision, the official residence-cum-office of the Chief Minister in Patna will now be known as Lok Sewak Aawas.

A formal notification to this effect was issued from the Chief Minister’s office on Tuesday evening.

The iconic bungalow at 1 Anne Marg, traditionally known as the Chief Minister’s residence in Bihar, will now function under its new name, Lok Sewak Aawas.

The residence has been officially allotted to Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.

At Present Choudhary is residing at 5 Deshratna Marg, which is typically designated as the official residence of the Deputy Chief Minister.

The development follows a recent leadership change in the state. Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar vacated 1 Anne Marg after stepping down from the post of the Chief Minister. He resigned from the office on April 14, and subsequently, Samrat Choudhary assumed charge as the new Chief Minister of Bihar.

The renaming to Lok Sewak Aawas (House of Public Servant) reflects a symbolic shift, emphasizing governance focused on public service, accountability, and accessibility.
