Pappu Yadav said Congress party has taken decision in the interest of the country.

Patna. March 29, 2024: After the announcement of the seat-sharing formula for Bihar under the INDIA bloc, Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Sunday said that he fully supports his party’s decision and will work to strengthen the alliance.

Pappu Yadav says Congress has taken decision in the interest of the country:

“For me, the country comes first and the party stands behind the nation. Congress has taken this decision in the interest of the country and Bihar, and I accept it. Our leader Rahul Gandhi has formed the INDIA bloc with the aim of removing the current government at the centre,” Yadav said.

Earlier, Pappu Yadav had been lobbying for the Congress ticket from Purnea, even merging his Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) with Congress on March 20 in the hope that the seat would go to his party. However, under the final formula, the Purnea Lok Sabha seat went to the RJD, leaving Yadav without a ticket.

Pappu Yadav supported INDIA bloc candidate:

“Congress has not fielded candidates in several constituencies in Bihar, but the grand alliance remains strong. My party has made the decision in the state, and I stand with that decision. I will go before the people of Purnea in support of the INDIA bloc candidate,” he added.

As per the arrangement, RJD’s Bima Bharti is contesting from Purnea, which goes to polls in the second phase on April 26.
