New Delhi, April 23, 2026: Ahead of the upcoming urban local body elections in Haryana, State BJP President Mohanlal Badoli has announced candidates for mayoral and chairperson posts, along with ward councilor seats across key municipal bodies.

A list was released for the approval of Nitin Nabin and Mohanlal Badoli:

The candidate list was formally released by State General Secretary Surender Punia following internal consultations and a meeting with BJP National President Nitin Nabin.

BJP announced Rajiv Jain as a mayoral candidate for Sonipat, Akshita Saini for Ambala, and Shyam Lal Bansal for Panchkula.

BJP also announced Chairperson Candidates Vinita Peepal for Rewari Municipal Council, Ajay Jangra for Dharuhera Municipal Committee, and Praveen Koch for Sampla Municipal Committee.

According to BJP State Media In-Charge Arvind Saini, the party has also declared candidates for 22 wards in Sonipat Municipal Corporation, 20 wards in Panchkula Municipal Corporation, 20 wards in Ambala Municipal Corporation, 16 wards in Sampla Municipal Committee, and 32 wards in Rewari Municipal Council.

Strategy & outlook:

State President Mohanlal Badoli said that candidates were selected after taking into account organizational feedback, local political equations, and inputs from party workers.

He emphasized that the BJP will contest the civic elections on the plank of development and public welfare.

 The announcement of candidates has reportedly energized party workers, who have begun extensive door-to-door campaigns to ensure electoral success.

Reiterating the party’s focus, Mohanlal Badoli said the BJP is committed to connecting with voters through its governance record and development agenda in the state.

Declared candidates for Sonipat Municipal Corporation:

Following the approval of Mohanlal Badoli, Hari Prakash Saini from Ward 1, Mukesh Bamaniya from Ward 2, Surender Madan from Ward 3, Tribhuvan Kaushik from Ward 4, Reena Saini from Ward 5, Nisha Sharma from Ward 6, Muniram Tholedar from Ward 7, Kunal Kaushik from Ward 8, Meena from Ward 9, Sanjay Thekedar from Ward 10, and others have been named as candidates to contest the municipal elections.

Declared candidates for Panchkula Municipal Corporation:

In Panchkula, the BJP state president Mohanlal Badoli has approved the names of Paramjit Kaur (wife of Narendra Lubana) from Ward 1, Paramjit Kaur from Ward 2, Suresh Verma from Ward 3, Bharat Hitaishi from Ward 4, Jai Kaushik from Ward 5, Parth Gupta from Ward 6, Jyoti Prasad from Ward 7, Rajkumar Jain from Ward 8, Harendra Malik from Ward 9, Shekhar Pandey from Ward 10, and others to contest the civic body polls.

Declared candidates for Ambala Municipal Corporation:

On the approval of Mohanlal Badoli, BJP has given tickets to Vishal Rana from Ward 1, Barkha Sahota from Ward 2, Manish Anand from Ward 3, Virender Nath from Ward 4, Rajesh Mehta from Ward 5, Archana Chhibber from Ward 6, Monika Mal from Ward 7, Meena Dhingra from Ward 8, Shivani Sood from Ward 9, Gurvinder Singh from Ward 10, and others to contest the election.

Declared candidates for Sampla Municipal Council:

BJP has also given tickets to Ramesh Deshwal from Ward 1, Hemant from Ward 2, Mahesh Bansal from Ward 3, Kamal Khatak from Ward 4, Sanjay Kymar from Ward 5, Vikas Gadi from Ward 6, Anuj Dhamija from Ward 7, Ajay from Ward 8, Ajit Ohlyan from Ward 9, Meenakshi from Ward 10, and others.
