Gurugram, April 21, 2026: The Haryana government has extended the registration deadline for devotees wishing to travel to the Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana till April 30.
The earlier deadline was April 15, and the extension comes in view of a lower-than-expected response from applicants.
Providing details, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh said that the first special train under the scheme will depart from Kurukshetra on May 5 and will be flagged off by Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini.
He added that the extension has been granted to ensure maximum participation of senior citizens in the scheme.
Eligibility criteria set by the Haryana government:
Senior citizens aged 60 years or above with an annual family income below Rs 1,80,000 are eligible to undertake the pilgrimage free of cost.

Applicants can register through the Saral Haryana portal or by visiting their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
The devotee will need a valid photo identity card, a family’s identity card, and the self-declaration of physical fitness.
Additional provision:
Each senior citizen is allowed to take one attendant, who must bear the full cost of travel.
Individuals with an age between 18 and 60 years, or those with an annual income above Rs 1,80,000, may also join the pilgrimage by paying the full fare.
As per scheme guidelines, a person can avail of this benefit only once every three years.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that the government will arrange accommodation, meals, and local transportation for the pilgrims.
After completing registration, devotees must inform the office of the District Information and Public Relation Officer (DIPRO) under the Haryana Government, located at the Mini Secretariat, to ensure proper record-keeping and coordination with the Railways.
