New Delhi, May 25, 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) organized an orientation and flag-off ceremony for a youth delegation from Delhi embarking on an Immersive educational and cultural tour to Chhattisgarh educational and cultural tour to Chhattisgarh under Yuva Sangam Phase 6.

The initiative is part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program administered by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education.

The program aims to strengthen people-to-people connections among youth through inter-state experiential learning tours.

Under Phase 6, the Delhi delegation will spend nearly a week in Chhattisgarh, where the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai will serve as the host institution.

Orientation and flag-off ceremony at IIT Delhi:

The event, held at IIT Delhi on May 23, 2026, was attended by Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary (TEL & Languages), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, along with Arindam K. Nema and Surendra T. Naik.

The program proceedings were coordinated by Saurabh Tiwari, who served as the Faculty-in-Charge at IIT Delhi.

A total of 45 youth delegates—24 women and 21 men—have been selected from various districts and institutions across Delhi. The participants come from diverse academic and social backgrounds, including Arts, Science, Engineering, Commerce, National Cadet Corps, and National Service Scheme.

The educational and cultural tour has been designed around five thematic pillars: tourism, tradition and culture, development and governance, people-to-people interaction, and technology and innovation.

Message to the youth:

Addressing the delegates, Govind Jaiswal encouraged the youth to experience India’s cultural diversity and contribute toward the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

He emphasized that the country’s future rests on the shoulders of its youth and urged participants to move beyond regional boundaries to better understand the nation’s diversity.

As part of the itinerary curated by IIT Bhilai, delegates will visit several historically and culturally significant locations, including Bhoramdeo Temple, Rajim, Sirpur, Ranidahara, Waterfall, and Saroda Dam.

The delegates will also gain exposure to industrial and scientific institutions, including the Bhilai Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre, Chhattisgarh tribal Museum, and Purkhouti Muktangan.

An interaction with the Governor of Chhattisgarh is also part of the program schedule.

Promoting National Integration:

Organizers stated that Yuva Sangam is aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and seeks to promote national integration, cultural understanding, mutual respect, and experiential learning among India’s youth.

The initiative is intended to help young participants emerge as informed, empathetic, and future-ready citizens while strengthening the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
