Patna May 13: Congress leader and candidate from North East Delhi on Monday taunted the roadshow of PM Narendra Modi and said was he came during the pandemic in Bihar to see the people here.

“He is coming to Bihar due to the election. What was the benefit of Bihar from the roadshow of PM Narendra Modi. Does Bihar get a special status or does Rs 15 lakh come in the account of every individual. This roadshow has no meaning,” Kanhaiya Kumar said after using his voting rights in his native village in Bihar’s Begusarai district on Monday.

During the polling, Kanhaiya Kumar was looking emotional when he cast his vote. He went to polling booth number 228 located in his native village Bihat Maksadpur and used his voting rights.

“If you believe in democracy then as a voter it is your first responsibility to vote. It is a matter of great happiness for him that he gets a chance to come home on this occasion even if only to cast his vote,” Kumar said.

“For me, it is a place with emotional and political value. I spent my childhood at this place. I studied at this school. I have many memories from here,” He said.

Kanhaiya Kumar joined CPI before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Begusarai seat but lost the election to BJP’s Giriraj Singh. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, he joined Congress in 2021. After joining, the stir intensified that the party may put a claim for the Begusarai seat in the name of Kanhaiya Kumar in 2024 but this seat went to CPI after seat sharing of India bloc. Now, Kanhaiya Kumar is contesting against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari from the North East Delhi seat.
