Kanhaiya Kumar claimed industrialists eyeing Bihar’s water resources.
Patna March 25, 2025: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar has made a startling claim, alleging that industrialists in the country are targeting Bihar water resources by setting up small industrial units in the state.
Speaking to the media during his “Palayan Roko Naukari Do Yatra” in Darbhanga, Kumar expressed concerns that the construction of large highways and industrial infrastructure in Bihar serves a hidden agenda.
Kanhaiya Kumar claimed water will be more valuable than petrol:
Kanhaiya Kumar questioned the rapid development of four and six-lane roads in the state, suggesting that these infrastructure projects are not intended for the benefit of ordinary Biharis.
“It is not for the people of Bihar as they do not have enough money to use these roads. These constructions are happening because industrialists are eyeing the state water resources,” Kumar claimed.
Highlighting the global water crisis, Kanhaiya Kumar warned that water could soon surpass petrol in value.
“Mark my words—the value of water will be more than petrol. Industrialists are well aware that water scarcity will become a major issue not just in India but across the world. You cannot drink petrol. Water is essential to quench your thirst, making it more valuable than petrol,” he stated.
No jobs for Biharis despite industries:
Kanhaiya Kumar further alleged that although industrial units are being set up, they will not generate employment for the local population.
“These small units are dominated by machines, leaving little scope for jobs for the people of Bihar. The industrialists will benefit, but ordinary Biharis will remain unemployed,” he added.
Congress adopted an aggressive stance ahead of the 2025 election: Kanhaiya Kumar’s remarks come at a time when the Congress Party is intensifying its campaign ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly election.
The party has been actively raising issues such as unemployment, migration, and resource exploitation.
Congress senior leader and media head Pawan Khera were also present during Kanhaiya Kumar’s Yatra, emphasizing the party’s aggressive stance against rival parties.
