Patna, June 15, 2026: In a major push toward skill development and employment generation in Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, the Chief Minister of Bihar, laid the foundation stone for a modern MSME Technology Training Centre at Devgaon in the Khizersarai block of Gaya district on Monday.
The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the ambitious project, which will be developed over nearly 20 acres of land, was jointly performed by CM Samrat Choudhary, cabinet Minister Shreyasi Singh, Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with several other public representatives and officials.
A large gathering of local residents, entrepreneurs, students, and party workers attended the event.
“This technology centre will provide technical training to more than 7,000 youth annually and offer modern technical assistance and facilities to over 1,000 MSME units,” Choudhary said.
He also stated that the widening and strengthening work on the road from Gaya-Islamabad-Khizersarai route to the centre was also inaugurated.
“In recent years, the MSME sector in Bihar has witnessed unprecedented growth. The number of MSME units has increased from around 6 lakh to more than 46 lakh, creating new employment opportunities for crores of people, “Samrat Choudhary said.
“This technology centre will become a new hub for industrial development, skill enhancement, innovation, and job creation across the entire state, including Gaya, and will provide fresh momentum to the construction of a developed Bihar,” he said.
Samrat Choudhary highlighted that it will be a transformative initiative for the Magadh region, particularly in the fields of technical education, skill development, and employment generation.
Samrat Choudhary highlighted modern technical courses for youth:
The MSME Technology Training Centre will offer advanced industrial and technical training to students ranging from Class 8 pass candidates to postgraduates.
The institute is expected to offer several modern technical courses, including Diploma in Tool and Die Making, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, and Electrical and Electronic Skills.
Training durations will range from six months to one year, depending on the course structure.
Leaders present at the event stated that the centre is being designed to create an industry-ready workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of modern manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Special skill programs for women:
Samrat Choudhary also highlighted that the project will include dedicated training programs for women aimed at promoting self-employment and economic independence.
These programs are expected to cover areas such as tailoring and embroidery, computer education, textile-related skills, engineering-based vocational training, beauty, and wellness courses.
These initiatives would help women gain technical skills and create new livelihood opportunities.
According to the government, the training institute is expected to strengthen Bihar’s broader skill development ecosystem while also generating local employment opportunities and encouraging entrepreneurship.
