Patna’s court asked the NEET accused to go to the CBI court for bail
Patna June 25: While the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started the probe of the NEET question paper leak case, 13 arrested accused filed for bail and the main accused Sanjeev Mukhiya filed anticipatory bails in Patna’s civil court on Tuesday.
Uday Shankar Singh, the public prosecutor and lawyer of the main NEET accused Sanjeev Mukhiya filed an anticipatory bail in the court of Additional District Judge (ADJ)- 5 Rajendra Kumar Sinha.
The court said that the case was transferred to the central investigating agency and hence the hearing will be done in the Special Court of CBI. The court has further asked the public prosecutor to submit the case transfer order to the CBI court.
“The hearing for the bail of 13 accused and the anticipatory bail plea of the main accused Sanjeev Mukhiya will be held in the Special CBI court on July 15. We will submit the case transfer order letter in CBI court today,” Singh said.
The NEET examination was held on May 5 and Patna police exposed this case on the same day. It had arrested 13 accused including 6 education mafias, 4 candidates and 3 parents.
An FIR (Number 358/24) in this regard was also registered at the Shastri Nagar police station in Patna. The case was later transferred to the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar on May 15. The EOU had arrested 6 more accused from Deoghar in Jharkhand on Sunday.
After the recommendation of the Union Education Minister, the case was transferred to the CBI on Sunday.
Now the CBI will investigate this case. Sanjeev Mukhiya’s name also came up in case number 358/24 registered in the Shastri Nagar police station. After that, Sanjeev Mukhiya obtained a no-concurrence order from the court. In this order, it was said that Sanjeev Mukhiya could not be arrested in this case number but in the investigation of the EOU, his name came again and again and hence he became the accused in this case.
Sanjeev Mukhiya is said to be the master mind of this case. He is currently on the run. Some of the accused who were arrested by Patna police and EOU are Sikandar Yadvendu, Anurag Yadav, Ayush Raj, Baldev Kumar alias Chintu, Amit Anand, Nitish Kumar, Awadesh Kumar and 6 others.
