Patna, July 2, 2026: Residents of Patna have received a major boost in urban transportation as the Patna Metro network has been extended to Malahi Pakri station.
Metro services on the newly expanded stretch officially commenced on Thursday, marking another significant milestone in the city’s rapidly developing public transport system.
Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the extended Patna Metro:
The extended section was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who was accompanied by fellow Chief Ministers during the ceremony.
Following the inauguration, the dignitaries traveled by metro from Malahi Pakri to Bhoothnath station, completing the journey in just about five minutes.
With the latest expansion, the operational stretch of the Patna Metro now covers approximately 6.2 kilometers between ISBT and Malahi Pakri.

Passengers travelling on this route can complete the journey in around 15 minutes, while the fare for the full stretch has been fixed at Rs 30.
The operational corridor currently includes ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhoothnath, and Malahi Pakri stations.
Khemnichak station was also inaugurated:
Although Khemnichak station was also inaugurated, metro trains will not halt there immediately as construction work is still underway.
Passenger services at Khemnichak will begin once the remaining work is completed.
The route extension has also led to changes in the Patna metro’s operating schedule.
The number of daily trips has been revised from 24 to 22, with each completed round trip taking approximately 35 minutes.

Passengers will be able to board a metro train at intervals of about 35 minutes.
The expansion is expected to significantly improve daily commuting for residents, especially those traveling between Kankarbagh, Bhoothnath, Zero Mile, Malahi Pakri, and ISBT.
Besides reducing travel time, the enhanced Patna Metro connectivity is also expected to ease road congestion and provide a faster, safer, and more convenient mode of transportation for thousands of commuters across the city.
