Patna, April 14, 2026: In a poignant and historic moment in Bihar politics, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed his cabinet for the last time, delivering an emotional yet forward-looking message during the final cabinet meeting of his government.
Urging his colleagues to carry forward the responsibility of governance with greater dedication, Nitish Kumar said, “You are already working diligently, but now strive to do even better. The responsibility of taking Bihar forward rests upon all of you.”
His remarks are being widely seen as a clear directive for the future leadership of the state.
Nitish Kumar emphasized the focus on development and continuity:
Reflecting on his tenure, the Chief Minister highlighted the collective efforts made over the years to transform Bihar into a progressively developing state.
He emphasized that the foundation has been laid, and it is now up to the next leadership to build upon these achievements and take the state to new heights.

Reassuring his minister, he added, “My love and affection for all of you will endure forever,” expressing gratitude to colleagues and officials alike.

Several ministers were visibly emotional, and a brief silence filled the room.
Following the meeting, Minister Lakhendra Paswan echoed the Chief Minister’s message, stating that Nitish Kumar urged everyone to work even harder and collectively continue the mission of building a developed Bihar.
Meanwhile, Minister Leshi Singh described the moment as both emotional and a matter of pride.
She said it had been an honour to work under Nitish Kumar’s leadership and praised his contributions to the state.

As the government formally moves toward dissolution, Nitish Kumar is scheduled to submit his resignation to the Governor at 3:15 PM, marking the official conclusion of his tenure.
