CM Nitish Kumar heads to Delhi ahead of a crucial NDA Chief Minister’s meeting with PM Modi.

Patna, May 24, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flew to New Delhi on Saturday afternoon for a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior Union Ministers.
The meeting comes just ahead of PM Modi’s scheduled two-day visit to Bihar later this month, and begin as a key review session on the progress of ongoing development projects in the state.
According to official sources, the Nitish Kumar-Narendra Modi meeting on Saturday will focus on a detailed assessment of the implementation of Central government schemes in Bihar, ahead of the upcoming Council of Chief Ministers’ meeting scheduled for May 25.
Nitish Kumar will participate in a high-level NDA conclave on May 25:
The Council of Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states will meet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 25 at the Ashok Hotel in New Delhi.

The meeting will witness the participation of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 21 NDA-ruled states and Union Territories, Union Ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP president JP Nadda.
Key issues expected to be discussed during the conclave include good governance practices and inter-state cooperation, implementation and outcome of the caste census and strategy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Bihar poll strategy and migrant outreach:
With Bihar slated to go to polls in late 2025, the meeting is expected to place special focus on electoral strategies, including mobilizing support among migrant Biharis, strengthening booth-level presence and outreach and highlighting the impact of Central schemes in Bihar.
Insiders suggest that four to five key proposals may be presented during the session, aimed at enhancing the NDA’s electoral readiness and administrative performance in key states like Bihar.
This high-profile political engagement underscores Bihar’s centrality in the NDA’s national roadmap and the evolving role of Nitish Kumar within the alliance ahead of the next assembly elections.
