Chirag Paswan is likely to contest Bihar assembly elections 2025, says party MP Arun Bharti.

Patna, June 1, 2025: Union Minister and Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan may contest the upcoming Bihar assembly Elections 2025, a move that could significantly reshape the political dynamics of the state.
The strong indication came from LJP (RV) MP and Chirag’s brother-in-law Arun Bharti, who took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to make an emotional and politically charged appeal.
In a detailed post, Arun Bharti wrote, “Our national President Chirag Paswan always says that his politics is Bihar-centric and his vision ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’ is a resolution for a developed and self-reliant Bihar. This is only possible when he says in Bihar and leads from the front.”
The Demand of Chirag Paswan from the ground:
Bharti said that during his extensive grassroots tours across Bihar as the party’s state-in-charge, he consistently heard one demand.
“Chirag Paswan should now play a bigger role in Bihar, “Bharti said in his post on X.
He also revealed that in a recent LJP (RV) executive meeting, the party unanimously passed a resolution urging Chirag Paswan to contest the upcoming state elections.
“Party workers believe Chirag Paswan should contest not from a reserved seat, but from a general seat, to send a strong message that he represents not just one community but the entire state,” Bharti added.
Symbol of new-age social justice politics:
Calling Chirag Paswan “the hope of the whole of Bihar,” Bharti framed his possible candidacy as a symbol of inclusive leadership.

“This step will give a new direction to the politics of social justice where the fight is not just for representation but also for widespread acceptance,” he wrote.
In his concluding remarks, Bharti emphasized that Chirag Paswan’s leadership has transcended caste lines, and it’s time his electoral strategy reflects that broader appeal.
“When the leader is of the whole of Bihar, why should the scope of the seat be limited?” he said.
Chirag Paswan, son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, has been a rising political force, especially among Bihar’s youth. His “Bihar First, Bihari First” campaign has focused on development, employment, and inclusive politics.
Contesting the state assembly elections would mark a major shift, positioning him directly in the state’s governance matrix, beyond his role in national politics.
With Bihar heading for elections in 2025, this development is likely to stir fresh debate across political circles, especially regarding caste dynamics, leadership roles, and emerging youth-centric narratives in the state.
