Patna, May 27, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday inaugurated a dialogue program with beneficiaries of post-matric scholarships at the Samvad Auditorium inside the Chief Minister’s Secretariat under the theme “Birsa Lives in India,” organized as part of Janjatiya Garima Utsav 2026.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the Bihar government’s commitment to the upliftment and educational empowerment of students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.
Samrat Choudhary informed about scholarship benefits for students:
The Chief Minister stated that under the state government’s post-matric scholarship scheme, around 1.04 lakh students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes received benefits. Among them, 4,155 students belonged to the Scheduled Tribes.
Samrat Choudhary further said that under the pre-matric scholarship scheme this year, approximately 20.46 lakh students benefited. Of these, nearly 1.41 lakh students belonged to the Scheduled Tribes.

Samrat Choudhary announced that a marathon competition would be organized in the tribal regions to encourage youth participation and talent development.
Prize money for the events will include Rs 1 lakh for first place, Rs 75,000 for second place, and Rs 50,000 for third place.
Promotion of tribal homestays and eco-tourism:
The Chief Minister also announced plans to promote homestays within tribal communities to help tourists experience and understand tribal culture more closely.
He stated that the government is continuously working toward the prosperity, cultural preservation, and economic development of tribal communities.
To strengthen tourism infrastructure and promote eco-tourism, the Chief Minister announced that heliports would be developed in Valmikinagar and Kaimur.
The proposed infrastructure projects are expected to improve connectivity and attract more tourists to Bihar’s eco tourism destinations.
During the occasion, Bihar’s two Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, and other dignitaries were present.
