Patna, June 8, 2026: A meeting of the Bihar Cabinet was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, during which 25 agenda items were approved.
The meeting took place at the Cabinet Hall of the main secretariat and was attended by all ministers.
The cabinet meeting was convened after the completion of the nomination process for the ongoing elections to 10 seats of the Bihar Legislative Council.
Although cabinet meetings have generally been held on Wednesday since Samrat Choudhary assumed office, this week’s meeting was scheduled for Monday following an official notification by the Bihar government.
Land survey and measurement fee revised during the cabinet meeting:
One of the key decisions taken by the Cabinet was the revision of survey and measurement charges for raiyati (Privately owned) land.
Under the new structure, in Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, and Nagar Panchayat areas, the fee has been fixed at Rs 2,000 per Khesra (Plot), subject to a maximum limit of Rs 8000.
In rural areas, the charge has been set at Rs 1,000 per Khesra, with a maximum ceiling of Rs 4,000.
For expedited measurement services, the Bihar government also approved Rs 4,000 per Khesra (Maximum Rs 16,000) in urban areas and Rs 2,000 per Khesra (maximum Rs 8,000) in rural areas.
The cabinet also approved the withdrawal of funds for the 2026-27 financial year, including Rs 400.66 crore for flood management works, Rs 2500 crore for land acquisition, and Rs 120 crore for river management activities in border regions.

Approval was also granted to increase the project cost for the confluence of the Mani and Sindhwarni rivers in the Kharagpur area of Munger district from Rs 125 crore to Rs 196.89 crore.
The project also includes restoration of a 9.66- kilometer stretch of the high-level main canal and is expected to provide irrigation facilities across 671 hectares of agricultural land.
The Samrat Choudhary government also granted administrative approval for several major urban infrastructure projects, including a water supply scheme in Hajipur worth Rs 131.88 crore, a sewerage network and sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project in Begusarai costing Rs 375.86 crore, and a water supply scheme for Saharsa valued at Rs 127.45 crore.
Employment mission and sugar mill revival:
The cabinet approved the implementation of Vikshit Bharat Rojgar and Ajivika Ke Liye Guarantee Mission (Viksit Bharat G RAM G scheme), which is scheduled to come into effect from July 1.
It also sanctioned Rs 42.99 crore for the revival of the Sasamusa Sugar Mill in Gopalganj and for clearing pending dues of sugarcane farmers.
The government expects the reopening of the mill to generate employment opportunities in the region.
Another decision related to the vehicle scrappage policy clarified that government vehicles older than 15 years, upon scrapping or deregistration, will be eligible for concessions on the purchase of new vehicles.
However, such benefits will continue to be available for continue to be available for private vehicle owners under the existing scrappage policy.
The Samrat Choudhary government, during the meeting, granted advance approval of Rs 3,662.97 crore for six social security pension schemes.
The allocation will cover pension payments for the months of May, June, and July through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The scheme includes the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, the Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme, and the Chief Minister Old Age Pension Scheme.
The latest meeting follows last week’s cabinet meeting, in which 13 proposals were approved.
