Amazon India launches menstrual hygiene awareness initiatives in Delhi-NCR.

Gurugram, May 28, 2026: Amazon India has launched a menstrual hygiene awareness initiative in the Delhi-NCR region. Under its community outreach program, Project Prayatna, aimed at promoting menstrual health awareness, improving access to sustainable hygiene products, and generating women-led livelihood opportunities near its operational hubs.

The initiative was launched on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day in Gurugram.

Awareness vehicle flagged off during the Amazon India event:

During the event, the specially designed awareness vehicle was flagged off by Upma Arora, the District Development Panchayat Officer, deployed at Palwal district of Haryana, and Amanpreet Passi, the Additional Director of Income Tax Department, New Delhi.

The vehicle has been equipped with LED displays, informational panels to bust menstrual myths, and interactive spaces encouraging open discussions on menstrual health.

Focus on education and sustainable hygiene products:

The awareness vehicles will travel through underserved communities around Amazon’s last-mile delivery stations across Delhi-NCR.

Through trained educators, the program will conduct Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) awareness sessions, promote open conversations around menstrual health, and improve access to biodegradable sanitary napkins.

According to Amazon India, the initiative is intended to reduce stigma surrounding menstruation while improving awareness and hygiene access among women and girls in underserved communities.

Amazon India’s statement:

Speaking about the program, Salim Rafik Memon, Director AMZL, India Operation Amazon India, said, “We believe in being a responsible neighbour and contributing meaningfully to communities where we operate.

Through this initiative, we aim to improve awareness and access to menstrual health while encouraging conversations that help reduce stigma and support women and girls in underserved communities.”
