Patna, May 12, 2026: Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Planning and Development, Government of Bihar, on Tuesday inaugurated a two-day division-wise review meeting aimed at assessing the progress of various state-run development schemes and programs.

Scheduled for May 12 and 13, 2026, the review is being attended by senior officials, departmental staff, and representatives from related units.

Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi’s focus on key divisions in Bihar:

On the first day, detailed reviews were conducted for schemes and development works across the Tirhut, Purnea, Kosi, Darbhanga, and Saran divisions.

Discussions centered on the progress of ongoing schemes, financial and physical achievements, pending projects, and regional challenges affecting implementation.

In her inaugural address, Dr. Vijaylakshmi highlighted that division-wise reviews enable a more accurate assessment of on-ground implementation and help in resolving region-specific issues swiftly.

The meeting included reviews of several departmental schemes, such as Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan, Mukhyamantri Kshetra Vikas Yojana, Vibrant Village Program-2, Special Central Assistance (SCA) Scheme, Integrated Sharnalaya Construction Scheme, Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayatra Bhatta Yojana, E-Kisan Bhawan, and Agricultural Road and Pavement Construction Schemes.

Push for data-driven governance:

Dr.N. Vijayalakshmi also stressed the need for regular and rigorous monitoring, data-based evaluation of schemes, and strong inter-departmental coordination.

 She noted that effective implementation and accountability are key to achieving the government’s goal of holistic and balanced development across the state.

Senior officials from the department, along with officers representing the respective divisions and schemes, were present during the meeting.
