Pappu Yadav became victorious in Purnea.

Patna, June 4, 2024: Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has defeated JDU candidate Santosh Kushwaha in the Lok Sabha Election 2024 from the Purnea constituency.

 As per a close aide, the Election Commission has officially declared him the winner after the final round of counting on Tuesday.

Pappu Yadav praised the people of Purnea after the victory:

Following his victory, Rajesh Ranjan took to the social media platform X to thank the people of Purnea. He wrote: “Pranam Purnea, Salam Purnea, Johar Purnea, Jordar Jindabad Purnea.”

The Purnea Lok Sabha seat attracted significant attention after Pappu Yadav announced his decision to contest from there. He had earlier merged his party, Jan Adhikar Party (JAP), with the Congress in order to secure a ticket. However, under the Grand Alliance’s seat-sharing arrangement, the Purnea seat went to the RJD, which fielded Bima Bharti as its candidate. Left without a ticket, Rajesh Ranjan chose to contest as an independent.

Pappu Yadav pledged to make Purnea crime-free:

After securing a decisive victory, he outlines his priorities for the constituency.

“My first priority is to make Purnea a crime-free district of Bihar, followed by completing all ongoing and pending development works. The health sector is also my priority,” Pappu Yadav said.
