Gurugram, June 10, 2026: Amid preparations for the upcoming elections, the Congress party in Gurugram has decided to launch a comprehensive campaign focused on voter list revision and voter awareness.
The party has stated that its efforts will not remain limited to election campaigning alone, but will also ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to vote.
As part of this initiative, a crucial meeting regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list was held on Wednesday at the District Congress office in Badshahpur.
During the meeting, responsibilities were assigned to organizational office-bearers, booth-level workers, and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to strengthen the party’s outreach and monitoring efforts at the grassroots level.
The meeting was presided over by District Congress Committee (Rural) President Vardhan Yadav, while District SIR Coordinator Vijendra Ranga briefed party workers on the technical aspects of the voter list revision process and their responsibilities.
Gurugram Congress aims to reach all eligible voters:
The primary objective of the meeting was to minimize errors in the voter list, facilitate the inclusion of eligible citizens, and ensure that no valid voter’s name is removed from the rolls.
Addressing party workers, Vardhan Yadav said that elections are not won solely on polling day, but that the groundwork begins during the preparation of the voter list itself.
“An accurate and transparent voter list strengthens the democratic process. The foundation of electoral success is laid when every eligible citizen is properly included in the voter rolls,” he said.
District SIR Coordinator Vijendra Ranga emphasized that voter list revision is not merely a procedural formality but a crucial exercise linked to protecting democratic rights.

“An accurate voter list is the foundation of a strong democracy. The responsibility of party workers extends beyond politics and carries an important social dimension as well,” Ranga stated.
He urged workers to create awareness among people at the village, ward, and booth levels and immediately report any discrepancies in the voter list to the organization.
As part of the campaign strategy, the Gurugram Rural Congress announced that a special booth-level drive would now be conducted across the district. Workers have been tasked with examining the voter list in their respective areas, identifying eligible voters, and assisting citizens in correcting errors or adding missing names in a timely manner.
The party leader also stressed that efforts would be made to remove the names of deceased individuals or those who have permanently relocated elsewhere in order to improve transparency.
Helping number issued:
One of the major announcements made during the meeting in Gurugram was the launch of a dedicated voter assistance helpline.
Congress leaders said that a helpline number would soon be activated to assist citizens with issues related to voter registration, correction of names, address updates, and inclusion or deletion requests.
According to party officials, the campaign will combine digital outreach with grassroots-level engagement to maximize public participation and simplify the voter list revision process.
Gurugram was further announced that the District Congress office in Badshahpur would function as the central support hub for the campaign.

Guidance, information, and necessary assistance related to voter list revision would be provided there on a continuous basis.
Party leaders clarified that the initiative would not remain confined to a meeting alone.
Separate teams would soon be deployed in rural areas to directly engage with the public and assist voters at the local level.
Political observers believe that voter list revision drives hold significant electoral importance, as they not only help ensure fair participation in the democratic process but also allow political parties to strengthen their organizational presence at the booth level and establish direct contact with voters.
Several senior Congress leaders and office-bearers attended the meeting, including PCC member Pankaj Bhardwaj, District Vice-Presidents Satbir Pehalwan, Yogesh Yadav, Mukesh Chaudhary, and Satpal Sharma, along with district general secretaries, former block presidents, and party workers from across the region.
