Lalu Prasad Yadav had the feeling of disrespect for Karpoori Thakur, says Neeraj.

Patna, March 30, 2024: JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, alleging that he always carried a sense of disrespect for Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur and never did anything substantial for him.

Neeraj Kumar criticized Lalu Prasad through social media:

Sharing old Bihar Assembly documents on the social media platform X, Neeraj Kumar claimed: “Lalu Prasad Yadav was MLA from Sonpur. Once, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Sheonandan Paswan, had written to him requesting his jeep to bring Karpoori Thakur to the house. Lalu Prasad replied that his jeep did not have enough fuel. I ask—when he was Chief Minister of Bihar twice, why did he never buy a vehicle?”

Calling it a historic day after President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Bharat Ratna on Karpoori Thakur, the JDU leader alleged that Lalu Prasad never respected the veteran socialist leader or the extremely backward caste communities he championed.

Neeraj Kumar further challenged the RJD: 

“I have placed documentary evidence in the public domain. If I am wrong, RJD is free to refute it or take legal action against me,” Kumar said.

The remarks come amid the JDU’s renewed bid to claim Karpoori Thakur’s socialist legacy, with the Bharat Ratna announcement giving fresh political traction to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party.
