Gurugram, April 16, 2026: Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana conducted an extensive review of the ongoing wheat procurement process for the Rabi marketing season 2026-27 during his visits to the grain markets of Farrukhnagar and Sohna.
During the inspection, the minister assessed all key arrangements in the mandis, including facilities for farmers, crop verification systems, electricity and water supply, sanitation, and the implementation of biometric systems.
Procurement operations across the district are being carried out by state agencies such as HAFED and the Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
The Haryana government has fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) at Rs 2,585 per quintal for wheat and Rs 6,200 per quintal for mustard, ensuring remunerative returns to farmers.

Addressing officials and stakeholders, Shyam Singh Rana reiterated the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare.
Shyam Singh Rana emphasized that the priority is to procure every grain brought by farmers without inconvenience, ensuring a seamless procurement process and timely payments.
Shyam Singh Rana noted that under the BJP-led government, farmer welfare remains central, and infrastructure at mandis has been strengthened accordingly.
During his visit, the minister also interacted with farmers and arhtiyas (commission agents), listening to their feedback and suggestions.

Both groups expressed satisfaction with the current arrangements, particularly appreciating the smooth functioning of the procurement system and the ease of using biometric verification.
Farmers assured their full cooperation in maintaining transparency through such systems.
The minister also inspected the Atal Canteen, reviewing facilities being provided to farmers and workers at the mandi.
According to District Marketing, Enforcement Officer Vinay Yadav, procurement and lifting operations are progressing steadily. So far:
In Farrukhnagar Mandi, 7,401 metric tons procured; 1,419 metric tons lifted.
In Pataudi-Jatauli Mandi, 17,561 metric tons procured; 5,948 metric tons lifted and in Sohna Mandi, 2,605 metric tons procured; 118 metric tons lifted.
Officials stated that lifting operations are being carried out simultaneously to prevent congestion and ensure smooth handling of produce.
Efficient Mandi management:
Sohna Mandi Secretary Dinesh Kumar highlighted that arrangements are being maintained efficiently, with strict instructions that no farmer’s trolley be turned away from the mandi gate.
He added that procurement is being prioritized for all farmers, and any complaints are being resolved promptly within a fixed timeframe.

Officials remain stationed on-site to ensure immediate resolution of issues and uninterrupted procurement activities.
Several officials and stakeholders were present during the visit, including administrative officers, market committee representatives, procurement agency staff, arhtiyas, and farmers.
