New Delhi, March 9, 2026: The Post-Budget Webinar 2026 on the theme “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas—fulfilling aspirations of people” brought together policymakers, industry leaders, multilateral organizations and private sector stakeholders to discuss effective implementation of announcements made in the Union Budget 2026-27.
The post-budget webinar is part of the Government of India’s annual post-budget consultation process, aimed at converting policy announcements into practical implementation frameworks.
Prime Minister highlights future-ready workforce during the Post-Budget Webinar:
Addressing the gathering, Narendra Modi emphasized that the Union Budget provides a roadmap to build a future-ready workforce and strengthen human capital for a Viksit Bharat.
He highlighted the importance of scalable development models, innovation-driven growth, and stronger linkages between education, skilling and the real economy.
During the inaugural session, Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, highlighted the growing importance of the care economy in India’s development journey.

He said the Post-Budget Webinar proposal to train 1.5 lakh multiskilled caregivers aims to build a professional ecosystem combining healthcare, wellness and assistive technologies while generating dignified employment opportunities, especially for women.
He also stressed that recognizing language as a skill and strengthening global mobility pathways will improve international employment prospects. Partnerships with countries such as Japan and Israel are helping India strengthen skill diplomacy and emerge as a global provider of skilled talent.
Breakout session on strengthening India’s care ecosystem:
As part of the post-budget webinar, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship organized a dedicated breakout session titled “Strengthening India’s Care Ecosystem: Skilling 1.5 lakh multiskilled caregivers.”
Opening the session, Secretary of the Ministry Debashree Mukherjee emphasized the need to build a robust and quality-driven training ecosystem to support the growing care economy.
She noted that structured training, standardized certification and credible career pathways are essential to ensure dignity and recognition for caregivers.
Manisha Sensarma, Senior Economic Adviser at the Ministry, explained that the initiative aims to address rising domestic demand due to an ageing population as well as the global shortage of care professionals.
The program also seeks to transition informal workers into a structured National Caregiver Ecosystem, integrating healthcare skills, wellness practices and employability training.
Participation of key stakeholders:
The session included experts and representatives from several institutions and organizations, including the Ministry of External Affairs, the Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, the British Asian Trust, the National Skill Development Corporation, Kaushalya—The Skill University, Apollo MedSkills Ltd., Sodexo India, Antara Senior Care, and Portea Medical.
Participants discussed several key action points to strengthen the caregivers ecosystem, including developing structured career pathways and standardized training curricula, training of trainers to ensure quality skill delivery, expanding apprenticeships with hospitals and healthcare institutions, leveraging Skill India International Centres (SIICs) for global employment opportunities, creating training infrastructure through it is and healthcare providers, making data on trained caregivers available on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH).
The Post-Budget webinar witnessed wide participation from stakeholders, including representatives of States and Union territories, and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training.
Directorate General of Training, sector skill councils, assessment agencies, industry partners and training institutions.
The discussions are expected to help shape effective implementation strategies for skill development initiatives announced in the Union Budget 2026-27, particularly in the fast-growing care economy sector.
