Patna January 25, 2025: The central government has announced the prestigious Padma Award 2025, recognizing individuals across various fields such as politics, arts, social works and healthcare, including several prominent personalities from Bihar.
These awards conferred on the occasion of Republic Day, honour exceptional contributions to society.
The central government has given Padma Vibhushan Awards Late Sharda Sinha:
Late Sharda Sinha, the prominent folk singer, known as a voice of the Chhath festival and cultural icon of Bihar has been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award. Sharda Sinha passed away during the Chhath festival in 2024 after a prolonged illness.
Late Sushil Kumar Modi, the former BJP leader and veteran politician who served in all four legislative houses, has been posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan by the central government.
Sushil Modi succumbed to cancer in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service.
Late Kishor Kunal, the former IPS officer and spiritual leader is known for his remarkable service as an IPS officer and contribution to spirituality.
Kishore Kunal passed away in late 2024. He has been honoured with the Padma Shri Award for his impactful work in both fields.
Dr Hemant Kumar, a leading name in the medical field, has been recognized for his outstanding contribution to healthcare.
Vijay Nityanand Surishwar is a dedicated social worker whose efforts have significantly impacted communities.
Bhim Singh Bhavesh, a crusader for the upliftment of the marginalized Mushar community, Bhavesh’s works have earned him the title Mushar Ke Mashiah.
Nirmala Devi, honoured for her tireless efforts in addressing social issues and improving lives.
The central government has given 139 Padma Awards:
This year the central government has given the Padma Vibhushan award to 7 global prominent personalities including Sharda Sinha of Bihar and Osamu Suzuki.
Padma Bhushan awards have been given to 19 famous personalities including Sushil Kumar Modi of Bihar.
Padma Shri Awards have been given to 113 prominent personalities in various fields.
The Union Home Ministry released the official list of 139 distinguished personalities for the Padma Awards showcasing the remarkable diversity and achievements of this year’s awardees.
The awards reflect the nation’s gratitude towards individuals
have gone and beyond in their respective domains, making an indelible impact on society.
