Nitish Kumar’s government has approved 43 agendas including benefits for the contractual teachers.
Patna December 19, 2024: The Nitish Kumar government has made significant decisions during a cabinet meeting in Patna on Thursday, where 43 agendas were approved.
One of the most notable decisions was the approval of additional attempts for contractual teachers to pass the competency test.
Nitish Kumar’s government has made 5 attempts at contractual teachers:
Previously, teachers were allowed only three attempts, but now they will have up to five attempts to clear the test. This step is aimed at giving teachers more opportunities to improve their preparation and succeed in the exam.
In addition, the Bihar Special Teacher Rules amendment was approved, and the government will soon introduce a policy for teacher transfers.
Teachers who have passed the competency test but wish to stay at their current posting will be able to continue working there, where they will now receive the salary of a special teacher.
As of now, a total of 253,534 contractual teachers have passed the competency test and have become special teachers, meaning they will be posted at their current locations. However, 85,609 teachers have not yet passed the test.
The Nitish Kumar government also took decisions in health and infrastructure:
The Nitish Kumar-led cabinet also approved the creation of 469 additional posts for Block Minority Welfare Officers under the Minority Welfare Department in Bihar. This decision aims to enhance the administration and services for minority communities in the state.
In addition to this, the cabinet approved several other important decisions related to education, health, infrastructure, and various government schemes. These measures are intended to accelerate the state’s development and improve public services for the citizens of Bihar.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed the media, where details about these decisions were shared. S Siddhartha, the additional chief secretary of Cabinet Secretariat emphasized that these decisions are crucial for the state’s development and will contribute to the smooth running of government operations.
