Nitish Kumar objects to mobile phones use in Assembly on day 13 of the budget session, RJD hits back.

Patna March 20, 2025:
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar strongly objected to using mobile phones in the Assembly on Tuesday, calling for strict action against violators.
Nitish Kumar’s stand:
During the Question Hour, RJD MLA Kumar Krishna Mohan alias Suday Yadav was seen using a mobile phone while asking a question regarding PDS dealers’ honorarium increment.
CM Nitish Kumar immediately raised an objection, saying:
‘’It is already banned in the House. I request the Speaker (Nand Kishore Yadav) to throw out whoever brings mobile phones inside.’’
The CM also made a puzzling statement: “We knew there would be trouble if we use mobile phones, so new stopped in 2019. If this continues, the world will end in 10 years.’’
RJD’s Response:
RJD MLA Bhai Virendra hit back at CM, saying: we are not school students. We are MLAs representing the people of Bihar. CM is accusing us, but he should first stop his own ministers and legislators, who also use mobile phones inside the House.’’
He also pointed out that this wasn’t the first time Nitish Kumar had lost his temper over RJD leaders. Failure in the day, RJD MLAs staged a protest in the portico before the session began. They were demanding an increase in the honorarium of PDS shopkeepers to Rs 25,000. With Nitish Kumar pushing for a mobile phone ban and the opposition countering his stance, political tension continues to rise in the Bihar Assembly.
