CM Nitish Kumar flagged off ‘Mahila Samvad’ campaign to empower 2 crore women in Bihar.

Patna, April 18, 2025: In a major push for women empowerment, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the ambitions ‘Mahila Samvad’ campaign on Friday, aiming to reach out to 2 crore women across the state.

The initiative is designed to create awareness and promote self-reliance among women by informing them about various welfare schemes of the government.

The Chief Minister flagged off 50 promotional vehicles from his official residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna on Friday morning. These vehicles will traverse every corner of the state, with a focus on rural areas, to spread awareness about social and economic empowerment programs.

70,000 programs will be organized by the Nitish Kumar government:

As per the schedule, 600 events were held on the first day of the campaign and over the next 60 days, 70,000 Mahila Samvad programs will be organized statewide.

600 special vehicles will visit villages to engage directly with women and 1.35 lakh Jeevika women are expected to actively participate in it.

In the Patna district alone around 1,395 events will be organized, with daily dialogues at over 1,200 locations.

The campaign will highlight key schemes such as Women Empowerment Policy 2015, Prohibition of Liquor, 50% Reservation for Women, Dowry and Child Marriage Prohibition, Mukhiya Mantri Kanya Uttan Yojana, Chhatra Poshak Yojana, Jeevika Scheme and others.

JDU MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar lauded the CM’s vision, stating: “Nitish Kumar is a national role model for 50% women’s reservation. Bihar is not a follower state it is a leader in women’s empowerment. ‘Mahila Samvad’ is a historic initiative to connect 2 crore women with the benefits of state schemes.”
