Jagat Prakash Nadda is likely to arrive in Patna on November 7 to celebrate Chhath Puja.

Patna October 30, 2024: BJP National President cum Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda is scheduled to visit Patna on November 7, likely in connection with the upcoming Chhath Puja celebrations.

Jagat Prakash Nadda along with CM Nitish Kumar will visit Ganga Ghat:

Sources within the BJP report that Nadda will arrive in Patna at 3 pm and is expected to visit the Ganga Ghat, where he will offer Arghya to Chhath Varti Mata.

Jagat Prakash Nadda will be accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as they tour the Chhath Puja celebrations on different Ghats all along the Ganga River.

The two leaders will observe the festivities from a steamer along the river, traveling from Danapur to Malsalami in Patna City. The devotees will offer water to Lord Sun at 109 Ghats.

Patna is the birth and initial workplace of Jagat Prakash Nadda:

Patna holds particular significance for Nadda, as it is both his birthplace and starting point of his political career, historically rooted in in the ancient city of Patliputra.

Jagat Prakash Nadda studied at Patna College, where he first became involved with the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). His roots in Bihar and early experience in the ABVP have shaped his dedication, ultimately leading him to the role of BJP national President, overseeing the world’s largest political Party.

Chhath Puja holds a unique cultural and spiritual significance in Bihar, as emphasized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 2014 visit to the state.

PM Modi highlighted how, while many worship the rising sun, the people of Bihar honour every form of the sun, including the setting sun, through the rituals of Chhath Puja. This reverence reflects Bihar’s unique spirituality and its deep cultural commitment to celebrating nature cycles and forms.

Chhath festival kicks off on November 5:

The Chhath festival will follow its traditional schedule with Nahai-Khaai on November 5, the ritual of cleansing and purification. Kharna is on November 6, when the devotees will observe a day-long fast, breaking it in the evening with a ritual meal of (Khir-Chappati).

Sandhya Arghya is scheduled on November 7, when devotees will offer water to the setting Sun and Ughta Arghya on November 8, the festival concludes with an early morning offering to the rising Sun.
