FM Nirmala Sitharaman distributed Rs 1,021 crore loans to boost rural entrepreneurs in Madhubani.
Patna November 30, 2024: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman distributed loan to the tune of Rs 1,021 crore during Credit Outreach Program in Jhanjharpur, Madhubani district on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Sitharaman reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a developed nation, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on Bihar.
She emphasized special action plans in the districts like Darbhanga and Mandhubani and urged women to join government initiative through Self Help Groups (SHGs) to achieve self-reliance.
Nirmala Sitharaman wants Lakhpati Didi in every village of the country:
Nirmala Sitharaman referenced the Lakhpati Didi initiative, a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for every village to have empowered women entrepreneurs supported by financial and training assistance.
“I urge the people to leverage government schemes to enhance self-sufficiency through initiatives like Lakhpati Didi aimed at empowering women in village through financial assistance and training provided to SHGs. I want Lakhpati Didi in every village of the country,” Sitharaman said.
An event in this regard was held at Lalit Karpoori Stadium in Jhanjharpur where cheques distributed to 75 beneficiaries to push toward employment generation and economic empowerment.
FM praised local talent and women empowerment in Bihar:
Nirmala Sitharaman also announced plans for a grand temple dedicated to Goddess Sita at her birthplace in Sitamarhi, akin to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Finance Minister praised local talents including a woman proficiently operating a heavy drone camera, showcasing the progress in skill development in rural Mithila.
Nirmala Sitharaman also inspected stalls displaying Mithila painting and products created by women entrepreneurs, expressing appreciation for their creativity and skill.
The event saw a significant turnout, particularly from women, reflecting the enthusiasm for financial empowerment and development programs in the region.
Several digniteries were present, including Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, Madhubani MP Dr Ashok Kumar Yadav and others.
The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reached Bihar on Friday for the two-day visit. She had an event in Patna Darbhanga and Madhubani.
