Congress criticized Nitish Government over Bihar’s Development and caste Census.

Patna, April 12, 2025:Congress leaders launched a sharp attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, accusing it of failing on development indicates and misleading the public on the caste census.
Congress leaders criticized Nitish Kumar on development:
Krishna Allavaru, Congress’s Bihar in-charge, claimed Bihar ranks 27th in the country in terms of development, blaming both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar for the state’s stagnation.

He recalled that during the 17-month Grand Alliance government, a scheme was proposed to provide Rs 2 lakh per person to promote small-scale industries, which he said the NDA government abandoned.

Caste Census Row:
Jignesh Mevani, Gujarat Congress leader and MLA, accused the Bihar government of conducting the caste census only for political optics.
He questioned why the caste census was not included in the Nitin Scheduled, which would have given it constitutional backing.
Mevani reiterated Congress’s commitment to ensuring the benefits of caste-based data reach the marginalized, citing Telangana as an example.
“Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar do not want real caste justice. Their double-engine government is deceiving Dalits and tribals, “ Mevani said.
Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Congress Legislative Party leader, supported the call for Rs 2 lakh assistance to lower-caste entrepreneurs, saying the proposal has gone unimplemented despite discussion in the Assembly.
Other leaders present included Dr. Madan Mohan Jha and Abhay Dubey, who echoed concerns over unfulfilled promises and the NDA’s handling of socio-economic issues.
