Patna, August 17, 2025: In a few hours from now, the INDIA bloc will launch its Voter Adhikar Yatra from Sasaram on Sunday, August 17, to protest against alleged irregularities in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar.
The 1300-km Yatra will be led jointly by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and the Leader of the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

Top leaders of the alliance, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPI-ML National General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, will also join the Yatra.

The preparation was completed on Saturday, with the Special vehicle used in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra remodelled for this journey.
According to the schedule, Rahul Gandhi will land at Gaya airport at 10.30 am and fly by helicopter to SP Jain College, Sasaram, where the Yatra will be flagged off at noon with a public meeting.
The campaign will combine roadshows, foot marches and public meetings, with two to three major events planned daily.
Rahul Gandhi will interact with people on foot in densely populated areas and use the special vehicle elsewhere.
The INDIA bloc’s Voter Adhikar Yatra will cover 25 districts:
The 16-day journey will cover 25 districts before concluding with a massive rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1.
Night halt has been planned at 13 locations, starting at Babhandih Sports Ground in Kutumba, Aurangabad.
Rahul Gandhi will stay in tents during the journey.
A separate media van with posters of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav has also been arranged.
Alliance leaders said the main goal of the Yatra is to raise awareness about voter rights and highlight alleged voter list manipulation, claiming that the names of a large number of dalit, backward, and minority voters have been omitted under their democratic rights.
As per the schedule of the Yatra, it will start from Rohtas on August 17, will reach Aurangabad on August 18, Gaya and Nawada on August 19, and August 20 will be a break.
The INDIA bloc’s Voter Adhikar Yatra will resume from Lakhisarai-Sheikhpura on August 21, reach Munger and Bhagalpur on August 22, then Katihar on August 23, and Purnea and Araria on August 24.
The INDIA block leaders will take a break on August 25 and resume their journey on August 26 from Supaul. They will reach Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur on August 27, Sitamarhi and Motihari on August 28, Betiah, Gopalganj and Siwan on August 29, Chhapra and Ara on August 30. August 31 will be the break, and the INDIA bloc’s Yatra will conclude at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan with a massive rally on September 1.
