Nitish Kumar announces uniform Rs 100 PT exam fee for state job aspirants.

Patna, August 15, 2025: While the country is celebrating Independence Day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced major relief for competitive examination aspirants in the state, fixing the preliminary (PT) examination fee at just Rs 100 for all recruitment commissions.

Nitish Kumar declared that candidates clearing PT exams and appearing in the mains will no longer have to pay any exam fee.

Nitish Kumar’s instructions to the examination bodies:

In a social media post, Nitish Kumar said the move will bring uniformity in PT examination fees for bodies including the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC), Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission, Central Constable Selection Board and others.

“Now, instructions have been given to keep the fee of only Rs 100 for the candidates appearing in the preliminary competitive examination. At the same time, the candidates who pass the PT and appear in the mains will no longer have to pay any examination fee. This step of the state government will benefit lakhs of youths,” Kumar said.

He added that providing more opportunities for government jobs has been a consistent priority, noting previous welfare initiatives, including 35% reservation for women in the state government jobs.

This initiative will be a great relief for those who are waiting for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.
