Mukesh Sahani questions voter list revision, says his Deputy CM post is certain if the Grand Alliance wins.

Patna, July 12, 2025: After six-hour of a marathon meeting of the Grand Alliance, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani raised serious concerns over the ongoing voter list revision, calling the process flawed and demanding clarity from the Election Commission.

Speaking to reporters, Sahani said, “In democracy, the public is the owner, but today the same public is being asked whether they are citizens of India or not.”

Mukesh Sahani pointed out irregularity in the form collection:

He pointed out that forms are being collected without identity cards or receipts, leaving voters without proof of submission, which could lead to eligible voters being excluded from the rolls.

“The Election Commission should clarify the situation and listen to the people of Bihar seriously. We are not against voter revision, but it should be done properly,” Sahani emphasized.

Voter list revision should have been conducted a year before the elections or after the elections to avoid confusion and potential disenfranchisement.

“We are fighting against this flawed voter list revision strongly,” he said.

Mukesh Sahani eyes Deputy CM post:

Regarding the seat sharing within the Grand Alliance, Mukesh Sahani said discussions are ongoing and clarity will emerge soon.

Confident about the alliance’s prospects, he stated, “If the Grand Alliance government is formed, then the Deputy CM post is certain for me.”

The meeting was attended by senior leaders of all constituent partners of the Grand Alliance, including RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Congress’s state in charge Krishna Allavaru, Congress state president Rajesh Ram, and left parties leaders apart from Mukesh Sahani.
