Tej Pratap Yadav speaks to Akhilesh Yadav amid political isolation: “Now it feels like I’m not alone.”

Patna, June 25, 2025: Amid personal and political turmoil following his separation from the Lalu Prasad Yadav family and expulsion from RJD, Tej Pratap Yadav appears to be seeking emotional and political support.

In a significant development, he has a long video call conversation with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday.

Tej Pratap shared the details of the conversation on his official X handle.

“Today, I had a long conversation on video call with one of the dearest members of my family, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, during which the political situation of Bihar was also discussed… Akhilesh Yadav has always been very close to my heart and today when I suddenly got a call from him to inquire about my well-being, it felt as if I am not alone in this fight,” Tej Pratap said.

A video clip of the conversation has also surfaced online, showing Akhilesh Yadav speaking warmly to Tej Pratap.

During the call, Akhilesh asked him about his political future and where he planned to contest in the upcoming elections.

Tej Pratap replied that he wished to visit Lucknow and meet Akhilesh in person before making any decisions.

Akhilesh Yadav extended an invitation to Tej Pratap Yadav to attend a riverfront event in Uttar Pradesh and affectionately referred to him as a hero during their conversation.

Political fallout and new beginnings:

Tej Pratap Yadav, once a cabinet minister in Bihar and the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been in the spotlight for both political and personal reasons.

Recently, he made headlines after being expelled from the RJD and disowned by the family following a controversial social media post about his alleged relationship with Anushka Yadav, a claim he later denied by citing a hacked account. Despite the setback, Tej is working to rebuild his life.

He recently qualified for commercial pilot training, marking a potential new chapter in his career outside active politics.
