Patna January 21, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, announced that the agriculture and IT sectors would be given priority in the state’s Budget for 2025-26.
While addressing the media in Patna on Tuesday, Samrat Choudhary elaborated that the budget will be prepared based on consultations with ministers, officials, industrialists, intellectuals, and the general public of Patna.
These discussions aimed to incorporate diverse perspectives to ensure a holistic and progressive financial plan for the state.
“Agriculture and IT sectors will be the central pillars of the 2025-26 Budget. We have taken inputs from industrialists and other stakeholders to address the specific needs of Bihar’s industrial and agricultural landscape. The state government will follow the central government’s innovative approach to budget planning, emphasizing growth in agriculture, industry, and IT,” Choudhary said.
Samrat Choudhary emphasized doubling farmers’ incomes by providing better facilities. He highlighted the necessity of completing ongoing projects related to irrigation and ensuring electricity reaches every agricultural field.
Samrat Choudhary on Industrial and IT Growth:
Samrat Choudhary acknowledged the continuous growth of industries in Bihar and emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for further expansion. Discussions were held with stakeholders to identify key areas for improvement in Bihar’s industrial ecosystem.
On the IT front, IT Minister Sumit Singh highlighted the advancements made in recent years, expressing optimism for further progress in 2025.
“A lot of work has been done in this sector in Bihar, and even more will be done this year,” he stated.
By focusing on agriculture, industries, and IT in the upcoming budget the Bihar government aims to create a robust economic foundation, ensure inclusive development, and position the state as a hub for innovation and growth.
Budget Session Overview:
The Bihar Legislative Assembly’s budget session will begin shortly, coinciding with the Union Budget session in the Lok Sabha starting January 31.
