Ujjwal Kumar Upkar achieved success in the 69th BPSC examination through sheer determination. 

Patna November 27, 2024: The successful journey of Ujjwal Kumar Upkar, who has to become the topper of the 69th Bihar Public Service Commission  (BPSC) exam reflects his dedication, resilience and a strong sense of social responsibility.

The humble beginning of Ujjwal Kumar Upkar:

Hailing from Raipur village in Sitamarhi district, Ujjwal grew up in a modest environment. His father, Subodh Kumar Thakur, runs a private coaching centre and school in the village, while his mother, Gudiya Kumari, serves as an Anganwadi worker.

Despite financial and societal pressures, the family prioritized education and encouraged Ujjwal in his aspirations.

Educational Journey of Ujjwal Kumar Upkar;

Ujjwal completed his schooling in the village and later pursued engineering at NIT Uttarakhand. After working in the corporate sector, he decided to prepare for civil services. His disciplined routine of a government job from 10 AM to 5 PM and studying afterward showcases his commitment to achieving his dreams.

Motivation for Civil Services:

Initially posted as a Block Welfare Officer in Vaishali district, Ujjwal felt his ability to contribute was limited to certain communities. This motivated him to aim higher, leading him to reattempt the BPSC exam.

By securing rank 1, Ujjwal Kumar Upkar now looks forward to serving society on a broader scale as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). He envisions bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public.

“Block Welfare Officer, which focused on SC/ST welfare, gave me motivation. However, I want to extend the impact beyond specific groups. Becoming a DSP will allow me to bridge the gap between the police and society, ensuring broader social service and justice,” Ujjwal said.

Challenges and Triumphs:

Ujjwal Kumar Upkar faced scepticism from relatives during his early years, particularly due to his interest in sports like cricket. However, his consistent academic performance and unwavering focus silenced critics. His family stood firmly by his side, enduring societal doubts and challenges, and providing the importance of emotional and moral support.

Ujjwal’s success has brought immense pride to his village and district. His journey serves as an example for aspiring students, particularly those from rural areas, demonstrating that perseverance and hard work can overcome any obstacle.
