Dilip Jaiswal claimed Nitish’s cabinet expansion would take place soon.

Patna September 9: Dilip Jaiswal, the BJP state president, on Monday, claimed that an imminent cabinet expansion in the Nitish Kumar government would take place soon.

The statement of Dilip Jaiswal came soon after the meeting with JD (U) counterpart Umesh Kushwaha at his residence in Patna.

When asked about the cabinet expansion, Dilip Jaiswal said: “All preparations have been completed and the expansion of the cabinet could happen at any moment.”

The meeting between JD (U) and BJP state presidents suggests that the dialogue on this point is currently underway, with the possibility of many new faces inducted into the cabinet. Additionally, there are plans to reconstitute various boards and commissions as part of this process.

Dilip Jaiswal emphasized the coordination between BJP and JD (U) workers at the booth level.

“We have discussed the coordination between us at the booth level to build a strong organizational structure ahead of the upcoming assembly poll 2025. It is important for the BJP and JD (U) workers to work together to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level,” Jaiswal said.

The meeting lasted more than half an hour and has intensified political speculation, particularly concerning the anticipated cabinet expansion and the formation of various commissions and broads in Bihar.

Reacting to it, the JD (U) state president referred to it as a “courtesy meeting” focused on further strengthening the alliance between BJP JD (U), RLM and HAMS.

“We have discussed forming a coordination committee for the NDA at the booth level. The list of appointments to boards, corporations and commissions would be released soon,” Kushwaha said.

The Nitish Kumar government had previously dissolved these bodies and their reconstitution is now seen as crucial for boosting the morale of party workers and positioning them effectively before the election.
