Patna, August 10, 2026: Patna was immersed in patriotic fervor on Monday, August 10, as a grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was organized under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of Independence Day.
The procession began at around 10:30 AM from JP Golambar, with Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary participating in the march and walking approximately 1.5 kilometers from JP Golambar to Kargil Chowk, holding the Tricolour.
Samrat Choudhary paid tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi during the Tiranga Yatra.
Before joining the procession, Samrat Choudhary visited the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Gandhi Maidan and paid floral tributes.
Ministers Dilip Jaiswal and Mithilesh Tiwari accompanied him.
The Chief Minister’s convoy entered the Gandhi Maidan premises through Gate No. 12.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign aims to promote patriotism among citizens and encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day.
Similar Tiranga Yatras are scheduled to be organized across all administrative divisions of Bihar until August 14.
Speaking after the event, Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said the campaign was also intended to convey a message of national unity and strength.

Meanwhile, elaborate traffic arrangements were put in place in Patna to facilitate the procession.
According to the administration, the movement of general traffic on several routes connected to Gandhi Maidan, Dak Bungalow Crossing and Buddha Marg was restricted from 7 AM until the conclusion of the program.
Emergency service vehicles were exempted from the restrictions.
Vehicles approaching from the Patne Junction side were diverted eastwards from Dak Bungalow Crossing towards Nala Road via Bhattacharya Chowk and Pirmuhani.
Vehicles coming from the Exhibition Road side were diverted towards Bhattacharya Chowk at the cut near Big Bazaar.
The administration also made extensive security and traffic management arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
The grand procession highlighted the spirit of patriotism, unity and respect for the Tricolour, adding to the festive atmosphere in Patna ahead of Independence Day.
