Gurugram, June 13, 2026: As part of the ambitious Indian Railways modernization initiative under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, both Gurugram Railway Station and Pataudi Road Railway Station are being redeveloped with upgraded passenger-centric infrastructure and modern amenities.

Gurugram railway station redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station:

Gurugram Railway Station is being redeveloped at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 300 crore.

The project aims to transform the station into a world-class transit hub equipped with modern facilities suited to the city’s growing population and economic importance.

Among the key features of the redevelopment area are a modern multi-storey station building, a roof plaza and air concourse, advanced waiting halls and passenger amenities, a cafeteria and commercial spaces, green zones and landscaped areas, a modern security infrastructure, multi-level parking facilities, and architectural elements reflecting local culture and heritage.

After completion, the station is expected to emerge as a major railway hub within the National Capital Region (NCR), improving both passenger convenience and regional connectivity.

Pataudi Road Railway Station Modernization:

Pataudi Road railway Station in Gurugram district has also been selected for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Development works worth approximately Rs 25 crore are currently underway.

The project includes the upgradation of the station building, construction of an additional building block, modern waiting halls and restrooms, improved parking facilities, LED lighting systems, passenger information systems, cafeteria facilities, and construction of a new foot-over bridge.

The modernization is expected to benefit passengers from Pataudi, Jatauli Mandi, and nearby regions by providing safer, more accessible, and convenient rail travel facilities.

Boost to Gurugram’s growth:

Over the years, Gurugram has emerged as a major centre for global investment, information technology, industries, and the service sector.

With increasing urbanization and employment opportunities, the need for modern transport infrastructure has grown significantly.

The redevelopment of these Amrit Bharat railway stations reflects the broader vision of developing integrated, modern, and passenger-friendly infrastructure under the Government of India’s “Viksit Bharat” initiative.

Officials believe that upgraded rail infrastructure will further strengthen Gurugram’s economic growth while enhancing travel convenience for thousands of daily commuters and passengers in the years ahead.

Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Gurugram has witnessed rapid expansion in infrastructure and transportation facilities over the past decade, with the Central Government focusing on strengthening modern rail connectivity in one of India’s fastest-growing urban centres.
