Patna, May 23, 2026: The meeting between Bhojpuri superstar and singer Khesari Lal Yadav and BJP National President Nitin Nabin has triggered intense political speculation in Bihar on Saturday.
Photographs from the meeting quickly circulated on social media, leading to discussions over whether Khesari Lal Yadav, previously associated closely with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, may be considering a political shift toward the Bhartiya Janata Party.
The development has drawn attention because Khesari Lal Yadav has long been viewed as a supporter and close associate of Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD leadership.
Khesari Lal Yadav earlier recognized Lalu Prasad Yadav as a father figure:
On several public occasions, he has spoken positively about Lalu Prasad Yadav and has previously referred to him as a father figure.
Khesari Lal Yadav had also contested the Assembly elections from Chhapra constituency on the RJD ticket in 2025 and had actively campaigned for the party in multiple elections as a star campaigner.
Because of his strong association with the RJD, the meeting with the BJP chief has prompted fresh discussions about changing political alignment ahead of future elections in Bihar.
Political observers have also drawn parallels with several other Bhojpuri film personalities, including Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirauha, and Pawan Singh, who either joined or associated with the BJP.
However, Nitin Nabin has not issued any formal statement regarding the political significance of the meeting.
Courtesy meeting:
Khesari Lal Yadav, however, said after the meeting, “I met Nitin Nabin and wished him on his birthday. He hails from Bihar and is leading the country’s largest political party. It is a matter of great pride for him. I will not join any political party. It was just a courtesy meeting with Nitin Nabin.”
Though Khesari Lal Yadav described it as a courtesy meeting, political observers continue to speculate about its implications, especially amid previous public invitations from BJP leaders, who encouraged him to join the party.
The meeting has intensified debate across political circles in Patna and on social media, with many now watching closely for the actor’s next political move.
