Patna, May 23, 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board on Saturday announced the results of the Intermediate and Metric Special-cum-Compartmental Examination 2026.

The results were declared by Mithilesh Tiwari, the Education Minister of Bihar, who stated that 55.31 percent of candidates passed the Intermediate Compartmental Examination this year.

Bihar Board says girls outperformed boys in the Class 12th compartmental exam:

According to the results data, female students outperformed male students in the Intermediate examination.

The pass percentage among girls stood at 59.29 percent, while 52.65 percent of male students cleared the examination.

The Board further informed that a total of 6,498 candidates appeared for the Intermediate Special-cum-Compartmental Examination, out of which 3,711 students were declared successful.

In the Metric Special-cum-Compartmental Examination, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 57.18 percent.

Male students were more successful than girls in the 10th Bihar Board compartmental exam:

In contrast to the Intermediate results, male students performed better than female students in the metric examination.

The pass percentage among boys was 57.84 percent, while 53.48 percent of girls cleared the examination.

According to official figures, 6,034 students appeared in the metric compartmental examination, and 3,450 candidates successfully passed.

The Bihar Board has conducted the metric compartmental examinations from May 2 to May 6, 2026, while the Intermediate Special-cum-Compartmental examinations were held from May 2 to May 11, 2026.

Both examinations were conducted in two shifts daily. The first shift was held from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, while the second shift took place from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

The compartmental examination system is designed to provide students who failed in one or two subjects in the regular board examinations—or those unable to appear in the main examination—a second opportunity to clear their papers and avoid losing an academic year.
