DC Uttam Singh urges traders to enroll in insurance schemes; legal aid services are reviewed in Gurugram.

Gurugram, May 19, 2026: Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh has appealed to traders across the district to take advantage of trader-friendly insurance schemes introduced by the Government of Haryana.

He emphasized that the government is actively working to strengthen the trade and industrial sectors by ensuring financial security for traders.

Uttam Singh highlighted the insurance that covers up to Rs 5 lakh at a nominal cost:

Registration under the scheme requires a nominal fee of Rs 50 and can be completed online.

Uttam Singh further explained that under the Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Yojana, traders can receive financial assistance for losses caused by fire or natural disasters.

Registered traders are eligible for compensation ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, depending on their annual turnover.

The registration deadline for both schemes has been extended from March 31, 2026, to May 31, 2026.

Traders have been urged to apply promptly through the official portal to avail themselves of these benefits.

Inspection of the legal aid clinic in Gurugram:

In a separate development, under the directions of the Haryana State Legal Service Authority and the guidance of Narendra Soora, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, Nisha coinducted an inspection of the Legal Aid Clinic at the District Sainik Board in Gurugram.

During the inspection, she reviewed the functioning of the clinic, including record-keeping systems, the availability of free legal information to ex-servicemen, serving personnel, and their families.

The clinic was noted to be playing a significant role in providing accessible legal support to members of the Armed Forces community.

Officials were directed to ensure wider awareness of services available under the Legal Services Authorities Act. Coordination between the District Sainik Board and the District Legal Services Authority was also emphasized to organize legal awareness and outreach programs.

The inspection aimed at strengthening the legal aid framework and ensuring effective delivery of services to eligible beneficiaries.
