Patna, April 23, 2026: JDU came with large hoardings and posters have appeared across key roads and intersections in Patna, highlighting the achievements of Nitish Kumar’s two-decade-long tenure from 2005 to 2025.

Despite no longer being the Chief Minister’s office, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has intensified its outreach campaign, showcasing major initiatives undertaken during Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

JDU highlighted schemes implemented by the Nitish Kumar government:

Under the theme “2- years—For Farmers’ Welfare,” the campaign highlights improvements in irrigation, access to fertilizers and seeds, and better market connectivity for agricultural produce.

Similarly, posters carrying the message “2- years—For Youth Aspirations” focus on schemes such as the Student Credit Card, skill development programs, employment initiatives, and youth incentives.

Women-centric initiatives are being promoted through slogans like “20 Years—For Women’s Empowerment,” emphasizing efforts in safety, education, reservation policies, and entrepreneurship support.

The campaign also highlights social security measures with messages such as “2- Years—Respect for Every Elder; An Easier Life for All,” underlining welfare schemes for senior citizens and vulnerable sections.

Through this extensive publicity drive, JD(U) aims to convey that a strong foundation for development and social transformation has been laid in Bihar over the past 20 years.

JDU wants to reach out to people through posters:

Politically, the campaign is being viewed as part of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen its connection with voters ahead of future electoral challenges.

Notably, Samrat Choudhary has now taken over as the Chief Minister of Bihar following Nitish Kumar, even as the party continues to foreground the latter’s legacy.

Nitish Kumar assumed the office of the Chief Minister in November 2005 and stayed till April 14, 2026. Apart from the 9 months’ rule of Jitan Ram Manjhi in 2014, Nitish Kumar ruled Bihar as the Chief Minister.
