Patna, April 14, 2026: A crucial meeting of the Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, was held on Tuesday at the Main Secretariat, marking a significant turning point in the state’s political landscape.

 The meeting is being described as the final cabinet meeting of the current government.

 Lasting approximately 20 minutes, the meeting saw a key decision on the dissolution of the incumbent government.

 The proposal received unanimous approval from the Cabinet, effectively paving the way for the formal conclusion of Nitish Kumar’s tenure.

Emotional moments inside the cabinet:

Speaking after the meeting, Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav described the occasion as deeply emotional. He said the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to everyone—from government officials to political leaders—for their support during his tenure.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also shared their thoughts. While details of the discussions remain confidential, those present noted that the atmosphere in the meeting was filled with emotion.

Tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar:

Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar attended an event at the Patna High Court to mark the birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar. He paid floral tribute by garlanding the statue of Baba Saheb.

The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Ashok Choudhary.

Leaders praise Nitish Kumar’s legacy:

Senior leader Sanjay Jha lauded Nitish Kumar’s leadership, stating that under his tenure, Bihar regained its dignity and carved a distinct identity both nationally and internationally.

He highlighted that Nitish Kumar’s 21-year-long public service has consistently focused on development and governance.
