Deepak Prakash directed officials to expedite the construction of Panchayati Sarkar Bhawans in Bihar.

Patna, March 17, 2026: A high-level review meeting was convened by the Panchayati Raj Department, Bihar, chaired by Deepak Prakash, to assess the progress of Panchayati Sarkar Bhawans under construction across the state.

The Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash, attended by officials from the Local Area Engineering Organization (LAEO) and the Building Construction Department, Bihar.

Deepak Prakash’s focus on speed and quality of construction:

During the meeting, Deepak Prakash, chief engineer of both departments, was tasked to expedite construction work while strictly maintaining quality standards.

He also instructed officials to ensure the timely handover of completed Panchayat Sarkar Bhawans,

To address bottlenecks, officials were asked to prepare panchayat-wise reports highlighting challenges faced during construction and share them with district administrations for quick resolution.

Deepak Prakash emphasized regular monitoring, stating that site inspections are being carried out frequently by departmental teams.

In cases where poor construction quality is found, inspection reports are issued to the concerned agencies with directions for corrective action.

He further instructed that an “Action Taken Report” must be submitted promptly by the concerned departments detailing compliance with inspection observations.

 The minister warned that strict action would be taken against officials found negligent in their duties.

Digital tracking and approvals:

Officials were also directed to ensure that the latest progress updates are regularly uploaded on the department’s Panchayat Nishchay software portal for real-time monitoring.

Additionally, the chief engineers of the Local Area Engineering Organization were asked to expedite technical approvals of cost estimates for upcoming Panchayat Sarkar Bhawans proposed by gram panchayats.

The minister also directed both departments to submit utilization certificates for funds allocated for the projects without delay.

The meeting was attended by Naveen Kumar Singh, Director of the Panchayat Raj Department, and Lalit Rahi, officer on Special Duty, along with other senior officials and staff members.

The department reiterated its commitment to fast-tracking the construction of Panchayat Sarkar Bhawans while ensuring quality and transparency.
