New Delhi, March 3, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the second installment of the Budget Webinar series, centred on the theme” Sustaining and Strengthening Economic Growth.” Reflecting on the momentum generated by the previous session, the Prime Minister noted that the first webinar had been highly productive and yielded valuable suggestions for effective implementation of Budget provisions.
Emphasizing the importance of the current discussions, the Prime Minister stated that the webinar is intrinsically linked to providing sustained strength to India’s economic growth. Observing that global supply chains are undergoing significant restrictions, he said that India’s robust economy has emerged as a beacon of hope for the world. “The rapid progress of the economy is a massive foundation for a Viksit Bharat,” he remarked.
Reaffirmed the government’s vision and resolve, the Prime Minister reiterated the core mantras: “Build more, produce more, connect more, and export more.”
He expressed confidence that the deliberated and suggestions emerging from the webinar would play a major role in shaping India’s growth trajectory.
PM Narendra Modi’s integrated approach to growth:
Highlighting the synergy between sectors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi explained that manufacturing, logistics, MSMEs, and urban centres are interconnected pillars of a unified economic structure.
Manufacturing drives exports, while competitive MSMEs foster flexibility and innovation. “This year’s Budget has provided great strength to all these pillars,” he affirmed.
However, he cautioned that policy direction alone cannot deliver results without active participation from industry, financial institutions, and state governments. He urged stakeholders to prioritize discussions on expanding manufacturing capacity, enhancing production, and improving cost competitiveness. “Your suggestions will be pivotal in ensuring that development reaches every corner of the country,” he said.
Strengthening core capabilities:
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the government’s efforts to remove bottlenecks and strengthen core manufacturing capabilities. Initiatives and promotion of container manufacturing are aimed at reinforcing the trade ecosystem, he noted.
He also drew attention to the ‘Biopharma Shakti Mission,’ announced in the Budget, which seeks to position India as a global hub for biological and next-generation therapies. “We want to move towards leadership in advanced biopharma research and manufacturing,” he said.
Leveraging global opportunities:
Against the backdrop of shifting global dynamics, the Prime Minister observed that the world is seeking reliable and resilient manufacturing partners.
He urged stakeholders to invest confidently, adopt advanced technologies, increase spending on research, and uphold global quality and user-friendly products to fully leverage these opportunities.
MSMEs, infrastructure and urban growth:
Referring to recent MSME classification reforms, the Prime Minister noted that these changes have removed fears of expansion among small enterprises. While the government is facilitating credit and technology upgrades, he emphasized that MSMEs must now enhance productivity, raise quality standards, and integrate with digital systems and global value chains.
On urbanization, he stressed that India’s future growth depends on the effective planning and management of cities. He invited suggestions on transferring Tier-II and Tier-III cities into new growth engines.
Addressing global sustainability trends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed that markets increasingly evaluate environmental impact alongside cost. He cited the Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Mission as a significant clean technology in their core strategies.
“Industries that invest in clean technology in a timely manner will have better access to emerging markets,’’ he noted.
Concluding his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for “collective ownership” in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat. He encouraged participants to move beyond discussion and create tangible momentum in partnership with the government’s framework.
‘’Every suggestion and every experience you share has the potential to deliver excellent results on the ground,” he said.
